Legal & Data Protection

Privacy: Your Listening Privacy

Effective Date: 1 January 2026

At Rover Saga Tune Whistle (roversagatunewhistle.forum), operated by Rover Saga Acoustic Circle Ltd (Company No. 14892031, 19 Acoustic Yard, St Paul's Square, Birmingham, B3 1QU, United Kingdom), we respect the quiet privacy of every visitor. This notice explains what information we collect, why we process it, and the rights available to you under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. No Microphone Recording or Background Audio Capture

Although our website discusses whistling pitch, breathing, and ear training, roversagatunewhistle.forum never requests access to your device's microphone or camera. All pitch ladders, breathing diagrams, and memory challenges on this site are visual and reflective guides for your own acoustic practice in the room around you.

2. Information You Voluntarily Provide

Our Contact page includes a client-side Listening Note Composer. Text typed into that composer stays inside your web browser's temporary memory so you can copy it to your clipboard or download it as a `.txt` file. We only receive personal data (such as your name, email address, and message content) if you choose to send an email directly to [email protected].

3. Standard Server Logs

When you request a page from our web server, minimal technical metadata—such as your IP address, browser user-agent string, timestamp, and requested page path—is temporarily logged for security, abuse prevention, and basic delivery diagnostics. Server logs are automatically rotated and deleted after 30 days.

4. Legal Basis & Retention

  • Legitimate Interests: Maintaining site security and delivering static HTML pages reliably.
  • Consent / Correspondence: Responding to emails you send to our listening circle and, where you explicitly ask us to share a field note, publishing your chosen initials and city alongside your tip.

Email correspondence is retained for up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete it earlier.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to request access to, rectification of, or erasure of any personal correspondence we hold about you, as well as the right to object to processing. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a concern with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
